ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restored the license of Geo English and allowed the television channel’s management to change its name and medium of language. The managers had applied for permission to rename the channel and for a change of language medium with the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) last year. However, PEMRA, instead of accepting the application cancelled Geo English’s license. IHC Chief Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman has now ordered PEMRA to restore the license and also issue necessary approval for renaming Geo English as Geo Tez. Due to cancellation of Geo English license, the launch of Geo Tez got delayed.
