ISLAMABAD: A joint committee comprising members from National Press Club and Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists has been constituted to take care of deceased journalist Safeer Sherazi's family.
The journalist was associated with Roz TV and is survived by four children.
In a press release on Monday, the NPC said the committee for financial assistance of the late journalist’s family will be headed by daily Nai Baat’s executive editor Farooq Faisal.
“The committee is formed to generate money for the bereaved family; so that their expenditures like rent, fees for school going children and others could be managed on a permanent basis,” it said.
Philanthropists and others can contact the committee members that include President NPC Shaharyar Khan, Secretary NPC Tariq Chaudhry, President RIUJ Ali Raza Alvi, RIUJ General Secretary Bilal Dar and member Executive Council NPC Farida Hafeez.
