Commission orders report on journalist Zubair Anjum's abduction within 36 hours

KARACHI—On Tuesday, the Sindh Journalist Protection Commission ordered the recovery of journalist Zubair Anjum and asked for a report about the incident in 36 hours.

The journalist working with Geo News was abducted by unknown men early Tuesday.

Justice (Retd) Rashid A Rizvi, chairing an emergency session of the commission's executive committee, said that since Anjum was facing no criminal case, it was a clear abduction case.

The executive committee maintained that Anjum's kidnapping violated articles 9 and 10 of the constitution. The chairman ordered the secretary of the interior and the IG police to recover the journalist in the next 24 hours.
