ISLAMABAD: After months of delay, Capital TV went on air at 7pm Wednesday, the channel’s Director News and Current Affairs Fahd Hussain formally setting the ball rolling.
The channel is the second after PTV English to be launched in Pakistan this year.
Fahd, who joined the channel from Waqt News in November last year, set things in motion from the scenic setting of Rawal Lake.
Shortly afterwards he hosted an introductory program that included prominent names Nasim Zehra, Ijaz Haider, Asma Chaudhry and Javed Iqbal.
Headed by Basit Sheikh, son of Ahmed Riaz Sheikh, a former official of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the channel was to start its news bulletins later in the evening.
