ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has fined BOL News Rs1 million for airing “derogatory remarks and false allegations” against JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman.
The allegations aired in the program Aisay Nahi Chalay Ga, hosted by Aamir Liaquat.
According to a PEMRA press release issued Friday, MNA Ms. Shahida Akhtar Ali had filed a complaint against the channel.
The release said that BOL is required to also air an apology and run tickers during its regular transmission.
PEMRA warned BOL that if there was a repeat violation, its license would be revoked.
