ISLAMABAD — BBC has raised concerns over the unauthorized use of its name by a digital media company operating in Pakistan. According to an official statement, a group calling itself “BBC Urdu News Punjab TV” has been using the BBC brand without any formal approval or affiliation.
The international broadcaster clarified that it has no connection with this organization or its reporters and has not granted permission for its name or branding to be used in such a manner.
The BBC has urged its audience and subscribers in Pakistan to exercise caution and verify all content claiming to be from the BBC by cross-checking it on the BBC’s official platforms.
This warning comes at a time when misinformation and fake news remain a growing concern in Pakistan’s media landscape, making it increasingly important for audiences to rely only on verified and authentic sources.
