ISLAMABAD: Journalist Azhar Abbas has rejoined Geo News as Managing Director News, a position he held before joining BOL News. A source tells JournalismPakistan.com that Abbas had earlier negotiated with managements of Channel 24 and Dunya News for positions of Chief Executive Officer and Director News respectively but failed to clinch a final deal. “Mir Ibrahim has lured him by offering a lucrative package, almost double the salary he was drawing before quitting Geo,” he said. Abbas was the first journalist to join BOL News in August 2013 as its President and Chief Executive Officer and was also among the first to quit in May this year after The New York Times published a scam about Axact, parent company of BOL.
