Attack on Sami Ibrahim outside BOL News offices

ISLAMABAD—Unidentified assailants attacked senior anchorperson Sami Ibrahim outside BOL News offices in Islamabad.

They started beating the anchor as soon as he came out of the office on Saturday. Ibrahim had stopped to give some money to a transgender beggar when five people attacked him.

The assailants inflicted blows to his chest, knowing he had a heart condition. As they hit him, they said: "You do a lot of talking."

The police later reached the scene to record his statement. According to Ibrahim, the attackers were driving a vehicle with a green-colored number plate. They filmed the incident.

Various journalists and political figures have condemned the attack.
