ARY News splits UK feed after court ruling

ISLAMABAD - ARY News is reported to have split its transmission from its Pakistan feed to prevent any telecast of the ongoing spat with Geo TV.

Media247.co.uk reported Saturday that it now seems, ARY News UK is playing it “safe” to avoid any further issues with Geo.

A London court on Friday awarded £185,000 in libel damages to Mir Shakil-Ur-Rahman, the Jang/Geo boss in a case relating to broadcast of 24 libelous programs by defendants ARY Network and its COO Fayaz Ghafoor.

UK media regulator, Ofcom is said to be observing the two broadcasters after the London High Court ruling. Ofcom is already investigating ARY Digital and ARY News’ UK licences.
