ARY may name Mubasher as Director News

ISLAMABAD: There are reports, although unconfirmed of  ARY Television management planning to appoint Mubasher Luqman as their Director News after Owais Tohid parted ways with the channel this week.

Mubasher, who hosts the program Khara Such has been in the news recently for targeting rival Geo Television and their Aman Ki Aasha campaign.

He joined ARY in July last year after reportedly being fired by Dunya TV when a video of behind-the-scene conversation during an interview with property tycoon Malik Riaz was leaked and went viral.

The conversation during the commercial breaks also involved co-host Meher Bukhari, currently with DawnNews Television.

Meanwhile Aaj Television await the arrival of popular talk show host and analyst Syed Talat Hussain who is making a return to the channel after three years.

He was the Director News and Current Affairs at Aaj before joining DawnNews and later Express News Television.

Although Aaj want their glory days back, Talat would return to find the newsroom deserted with several prominent names having left.  However, at this point it is not clear if Talat will be taking up some editorial position or just host a talk show.
