Arshad Sharif's body to arrive in Islamabad on October 26
Arshad Sharif's body is en route to Islamabad following his tragic death in Kenya. The flight is scheduled to arrive early on October 26.

ISLAMABAD—A plane carrying the dead body of journalist Arshad Sharif left Nairobi for Islamabad via Doha.

Sharif's body was flown from Nairobi to Doha on Qatar Airways flight QR1342 at 01:25 on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

The plane will arrive in Islamabad on Wednesday (October 26) at 01:05. The process of returning the deceased from Nairobi Airport was supervised by Saqlain Saida, the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Kenya.

Kenyan police shot dead Sharif on the Nairobi-Magadi highway in a "case of mistaken identity," preliminary investigations revealed.

Kenyan media reported that the journalist was tragically shot in the head by police officers after allegedly breaking through a roadblock set up to monitor cars on the route.
