Anchor Imran Riaz Khan joins Express News

ISLAMABAD—Television presenter Imran Riaz Khan has announced joining Express News a month after Samaa TV took him off air.

In a tweet, Khan said that as many as seven mainstream TV channels offered him their platform, but after a thorough consideration with his team, he decided to join Express News. "Currently, it is not easy for any media to propagate our viewpoint," he added.

Khan has openly supported PTI and ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan. He has taken an aggressive position against the current government, due to which Samaa reportedly took him off-air.

Recently, the FBR served him notice concerning the selection of cases for audit u/s 177 of the income tax ordinance, 2001 for 2020. However, he said he had not received the notice as it may have been delivered to his old address.

"My address is updated in My ID card," he stated, according to a report published in Pakistan Today.
