Aamir Liaquat apologizes to Mir Ibrahim and Khanzada; says he is not joining Geo
Aamir Liaquat publicly apologized to Mir Ibrahim and Shahzeb Khanzada while asserting he will not join Geo TV. His remarks followed his resignation from BOL News.

ISLAMABAD – Controversial anchor Aamir Liaquat has apologized to Geo TV CEO Mir Ibrahim Rahman and program host Shahzeb Khanzada and said he has no intention of joining that channel.

“I apologize to them from the core of my heart,” he said in a short video message posted on Twitter. Both of them were often targeted by Liaquat in his program Aisay Nahi Chalay Ga on BOL News.

Liaquat quit BOL last week, announcing his resignation through Twitter, a decision that angered the management. The managers termed it “unprofessional conduct.”

The anchor, who was an executive president at BOL made it clear that apologizing to Ibrahim and Khanzada should not be seen as an indication he would be returning to Geo. “I indicate to turn right but always go left,” he said.

KEY POINTS:

  • Aamir Liaquat apologized to Geo TV's executives.
  • He confirmed he will not be joining Geo after leaving BOL News.
  • Liaquat's resignation was described as unprofessional by BOL management.
