The News journalist injured in Tank attack

ISLAMABAD: Armed assailants injured a correspondent of The News, his son, and a cameraman in Tank Tuesday.

According to The News, Irfan Burki who covers South Waziristan for the paper and its sister television channel Geo News was heading home from his office in Tank Bazaar when attacked by seven men carrying guns and sticks.

Irfan sustained injuries on his head and fractured his left arm. His son Tanvir Burki suffered serious stomach injuries while cameraman Shahid ended up with a fractured right arm.

The reasons behind the attack were not known.
