Shahzada Zulfiqar first Balochistan journalist to receive Pride of Performance Award

QUETTA - Shahzada Zulfiqar, President Quetta Press Club and Bureau Chief of BOL News has become Balochistan’s first working journalist to be awarded the President's Award for Pride of Performance.

The award was conferred on him by Governor Balochistan, Mohammad Khan Achakzai, on behalf of President of Pakistan at a ceremony held at the Governor House Thursday.

Dr. Javed Iqbal, Vice Chancellor of the University of Balochistan was the other recipient of the award from this province.

Presidential awards are conferred on citizens who have achieved distinction in their respective fields on Pakistan Day every year in President House, Islamabad and in all four Governor Houses in the provincial capitals.

Shahzada Zulfiqar is a veteran journalist of Balochistan whose career spans almost three decades. He mostly worked in English print journalism and only recently joined the electronic media.

Over the course of his journalistic career, he worked for The Nation, Pakistan Today, AFP, Newsline, Samaa TV and BOL News among others.

Zulfiqar was also elected member of FEC of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) in elections held in Quetta last week.
