Sackings and appointments at PTV
Pakistan Television (PTV) has seen significant management changes with the termination of Chief Editor Ashraf Malkham and others. The Islamabad High Court also intervened in PTV's leadership structure.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Television (PTV) management has reportedly terminated Chief Editor Ashraf Malkham and Director Output Mian Tahir. The reasons for their abrupt sacking were not immediately known. Both had joined the state-run channel in 2011.

Meanwhile, M. Fayyaz of PTV Lahore was appointed General Manager, replacing Zafar Iqbal Bangash with Mohsin Gorya, Director Current Affairs being made OSD, making way for Agha Masood Shorish.

On April 13, the the Islamabad High Court ordered dismissal of PTV Managing Director Yousaf Baig Mirza, declaring his appointment and that of previous MD Ashraf Azeem illegal.

The court appointed Mustafa Kamal Kazi, Director Engineering, as an interim head of the channel.
