PU students unhappy over cafe closure at 6
Students at Punjab University's Institute of Communication Studies are frustrated by the cafeteria's new 6 PM closing time. This change affects their ability to access critical services and resources after classes.

LAHORE: Some students at the Punjab University's Institute of Communication Studies are unhappy over the early closure of their department’s cafeteria.

A JournalismPakistan.com reader reports the new director has ordered the café be closed at 6:00pm daily. “This decision is bringing a lot of problems to students,” she says, pointing out the MSc Development Journalism students’ last class ends at 7.20pm and therefore, they cannot have anything from the cafeteria.

“The students cannot even get their notes photocopied or printed from the photocopier shop, as this too closes down at 6:00 pm,” the reader said.

KEY POINTS:

  • Cafeteria at Punjab University now closes at 6 PM
  • Students report issues with accessing food after evening classes
  • Last class for MSc Development Journalism ends at 7:20 PM
  • Photocopy and printing services also close at 6 PM
  • New director's decision is causing widespread student dissatisfaction
