Kidnapped Jang executive Abid Abdullah freed
Abid Abdullah, a senior executive at Jang Group, was kidnapped in Peshawar and has now been freed. He returned safely to the Geo office in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD – Abid Abdullah, a Jang Group executive, kidnapped Wednesday in Peshawar has been freed by his kidnappers, a journalist who spoke to him told JournalismPakistan.com Thursday.

“He arrived safely at the Geo office in Islamabad and is fine,” he said. Several unidentified armed men abducted him after intercepting his car. Abid was visiting Peshawar in connection with work. The reason for his kidnapping was not known.

Abid is a senior professional and helped launch Daily Express and then Jehan Pakistan which he quit in December 2012 and later returned to Jang Group.
