Journalist shot dead in D.I.Khan
A local journalist was fatally shot in Dera Ismail Khan on Saturday. Muhammad Omar was attacked near Niazi Chowk and later died from his injuries.

ISLAMABAD: Unidentified gunmen shot dead a journalist working for a local newspaper in Dera Ismail Khan Saturday.

The News reported Sunday that the assailants opened fire on Muhammad Omar near Niazi Chowk.

The paper quoting the police said Omar sustained critical injuries in the attack. He was rushed to District Headquarters Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

The motive behind the killing was not known.
