Geo News website to be revamped
ISLAMABAD : The management of Geo News Television is planning to revamp the channel’s website geo.tv to attract more visitors, stay in online competition with others and grab maximum share of online business.

A source tells JournalismPakistan.com that a new social media team is also being hired to enhance the channel's online presence.

“We’ll first change layout of the website to make it like a news website, and some other changes will also be introduced gradually,” he said.

He said there is also a need to develop working relationship among different sections of the channel and its sister organizations like The News and Jang to strengthen online presence of the group.

“The news websites are attracting sufficient monthly business and the Geo’s management wants to grab majority share of it by increasing the number of online visitors,” he said.

The channel has recently hired a social media producer from Dawn.com and some new recruitments are also likely in the next couple of weeks.
