ISLAMABAD – Electronic media watchdog PEMRA Saturday directed Aaj Television to air an apology for showing indecent content in its news headlines.
The objectionable content was telecast on April 13. This prompted the regulator to issue a show-cause notice.
PEMRA heard the channel’s representative and examined their written response to the notice.
The news organization was found to have violated several clauses of the Electronic Media (Programs and Advertisements) Code of Conduct 2015.
Aaj is required to apologize to viewers on Monday at 12:00 noon. It was also warned to be vigilant while airing scenes of English movies.
