Senior journalist and historian Akhtar Baloch passes away
Akhtar Baloch, a prominent journalist and historian, has passed away in Karachi due to a brief illness. He was known for his contributions to journalism and literature.

KARACHI—Senior journalist Akhtar Baloch passed away in Karachi on Sunday after a brief illness.

He was an office-bearer of the Hyderabad Press Club, coordinator of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan in Sindh, head of an NGO, and a regular contributor to Dawn.com.

Baloch, also a renowned historian, penned several books on Karachi history, including Karanchi Wala and Yehi Mera Watan. He authored a book on transgender titled: 'Teesri Jins'.

Baloch's friends, family members, and well-wishers expressed their grief on the journalist's demise and offered condolences to the family members.

He left behind a widow and three children.
