PTI serves legal notice on Gharidah Farooqi for alleged malicious tweets
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has sent a legal notice to Aaj News presenter Gharidah Farooqi. They are demanding the withdrawal of tweets and an apology.

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has sent a legal notice to Aaj News presenter Gharidah Farooqi for her alleged malicious tweets and threatened to seek Rs one billion in damages if she does not withdraw the tweets and apologize.

The notice says that she leveled severe allegations through her Twitter account on May 28, against the party and its leadership including the Chairman Imran Khan.

Served by Senior Advocate Babar Awan, the notice states that Gharida’s allegations were aimed at targeting the party ahead of the general elections.

The presenter has been asked to withdraw the tweets within 15 days and apologize in writing. If not, the party will file a suit for damages of Rs one billion against her.
