PFUJ and RIUJ continue protests for ARY News
The PFUJ and RIUJ continue their protests outside PEMRA's offices in Islamabad for ARY News' return. Leaders vow to persist until the channel resumes broadcasting.

ISLAMABAD—Journalist unions continued their protests Tuesday for the resumption of ARY News transmission.

Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) have been leading the protest outside regulator PEMRA's offices in Islamabad.

The union leaders, including PFUJ President Afzal Butt and others, made speeches and said their struggle would continue until the ARY News returned to the airwaves.

The channel that aired a controversial comment by PTI leader Shahbaz Gill has been off cable networks since August 8 despite a Sindh High Court order to restore its transmission.

PEMRA claims it was the cable operators behind the channel's closure, which the protesters are unwilling to believe.
