ISLAMABAD —Pakistan’s iconic magazine—Herald—is suspending publication of its print edition from August 2019.
The decision brings to an end a glorious era during which the magazine’s impressive team of journalists produced tons of investigative stories, analysis, and scoops.
Born in 1969, the monthly magazine was one of the most widely-read in the country, and also had a wide circulation abroad.
A letter sent out to subscribers by the magazine’s director circulation and coordination said they were temporarily suspending Herald’s publication to undertake an editorial revamp.
Some insiders say, there’s the talk of an online edition only.
For long Herald remained the dominant news and current affairs magazine before monthly Newsline, founded by the illustrious Razia Bhatti (late) in 1989, threatened its domination.
