NBC makes the move, joins BOL
Nasir Baig Chughtai has left Abb Takk Television to join BOL News as Senior Executive Vice President. His departure is part of a larger trend of resignations at Abb Takk.

ISLAMABAD: One of electronic media's biggest heavyweights - Nasir Baig Chughtai - has parted ways with Abb Takk Television and joined BOL News as Senior Executive Vice President.

His decision to quit comes as a big blow to the channel that he helped take off. He was the Director News and Current Affairs, and the face of Abb Takk with his popular program 'NBC On Air'.

Popularly known by his initials NBC, he confirmed Friday he had resigned and would start his new job at BOL from December 1.

NBC is a Geo pioneer and led that channel’s launch team in Dubai. He served there in various capacities and at one point was their Executive Director. He has also had a stint at ARY News.

In the 1980s he remained associated with Urdu daily Jang serving in such positions as Chief News Editor and Deputy Editor.

Abb Takk has seen quite a few resignations with their Islamabad Bureau Chief Farrukh Tanveer Malik resigning in October and anchor Adil Abbasi quitting earlier this month. The channel's Executive Producer of Web and Current Affairs, Majid Siddqui also quit recently.

Some assistant producers are also said to have resigned.

Abb Takk Television was launched in April 2013.
