ARY Digital violates Ramzan guidelines, gets PEMRA notice
ARY Digital was issued a notice by PEMRA for airing a quiz show before the allowed time during Ramzan. The channel must respond by June 2.

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has served a show-cause notice on ARY Digital for airing a quiz program before 9:00 pm – a violation of Ramzan guidelines issued to television channels.

ARY aired the program Jeeto Pakistan at 8:00 pm on May 28 which the regulator said violated Clause 5(p) of the Ramzan guidelines.

The channel has until June 2 to reply to the notice. Its CEO has been asked to appear in person on the said date.

The Ramzan guidelines were sent to television channels by PEMRA on the directives of Islamabad High Court before the start of the holy month.
