Watchdog condemns journalist's murder
Abdul Baloch Haq, a reporter with ARY TV, was murdered by gunmen in Khuzdar while leaving the press club. The Committee to Protect Journalists demands an investigation into his death.

NEW YORK: The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has condemned the murder of Abdul Baloch Haq and sent condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. Bob Dietz, CPJ's Asia program coordinator said the authorities must investigate this murder, and journalists in Balochistan must band together to confront the growing onslaught on their lives. Haq, a reporter with ARY TV was killed by unidentified gunmen in Khuzdar as he was leaving the press club to go home, news reports said. He had not received any threats. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Baluchistan Union of Journalists released a statement condemning Haq's death and demanding the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the brutal murder and provide security for journalists.
