UN Biodiversity Conference: Media accreditation now open
The UN CBD has opened media accreditation for its fall conference. This event will cover critical biodiversity issues and global goals.

The Secretariat of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is now accepting media accreditation applications for this fall’s UN Biodiversity Conference. This significant event will include:

The 5th Meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation (SBI 5), taking place from October 16-18, 2024. The 16th Meeting of the Parties to the CBD (COP 16) and its Protocols (the Cartagena Protocol and the Nagoya Protocol), scheduled from October 21 to November 1, 2024. The conference, hosted by Colombia under the theme "Peace with Nature," will center on evaluating and advancing the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. This framework, unanimously adopted by 196 Parties in December 2022, outlines 23 action targets for 2030 and sets four long-term goals for 2050 to halt and reverse the alarming loss of biodiversity.

How Media Can Apply for Accreditation Media professionals wishing to attend the conference in person or participate in online news conferences and other events can apply for accreditation through the following link: Media Accreditation Application.
