Join our WhatsApp channelISLAMABAD — In an embarrassing blunder, The News on Sunday splashed a picture of prominent journalist Mariana Baabar Pashteen along with an obituary of Zuhra Karim — the editor of She magazine.
Zuhra, who founded the magazine in 1963, died in Singapore at the start of the month.
Mariana works for The News in Islamabad and has been in journalism for nearly 40 years. She is alive and well.
In the obituary headlined, ‘She lived with substance and style,’ Mariana’s image is displayed prominently.
‘Zuhra Karim will continue to live in our hearts and minds as a true pioneer of women in journalism in Pakistan,” wrote the author Zohra Yousuf, her work ruined by some sloppy sub on the desk.
