NPC committee recommends membership for TV producers

The National Press Club in Islamabad has proposed membership for TV producers and assistant producers. A committee led by journalist Hamid Mir outlined specific eligibility criteria for applicants.

ISLAMABAD: A committee constituted by National Press Club, Islamabad has recommended that producers and assistant producers of private television channels be granted the club’s membership.

The committee was headed by senior journalist and Geo TV presenter Hamid Mir with bureau chiefs of all television channels its members.

The producers and assistant produces of news and current affair programs have been recommended for the club’s membership. The committee however, set a strict criterion for eligibility for their membership.

The producers and assistant producers must have a bachelor's degree and minimum five years and three years of professional experience respectively to be eligible for membership.

All the new applicants have been directed to submit their professional experience letters and educational certificates with the scrutiny committee of the club within a week.
