PPP writes to PEMRA
The Pakistan Peoples Party has written to PEMRA regarding negative comments aimed at former President Asif Ali Zardari. Senator Taj Haider's letter highlights concerns over media airtime given to false accusations.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party wrote a letter to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Monday demanding action against person(s) using foul language against former President Asif Ali Zardari.
Party's Senator Taj Haider complained in the letter that different channels were giving airtime to people who have been leveling false allegations against Zardari.
“One sided allegations are being leveled against the former president and PEMRA needs to initiate action (against the culprits) under Article 27 of its act,” he said.
The party apparently seems perturbed over airtime being given to former Interior Minister of Sindh Zulfiqar Mirza who has leveled some serious corruption allegations against Zardari.
