PEMRA turns down request by erring Geo Entertainment
PEMRA has denied Geo Entertainment's request for an extension to respond to a notice concerning Ramzan transmission violations. The channel is expected to comply with the guidelines by the set deadline.

ISLAMABAD – Regulator PEMRA has turned down a request by Geo Entertainment seeking more time to respond to a show-cause notice for violating Ramzan transmission guidelines.

The channel sought three more days to file its reply to the notice served by PEMRA on May 28.

The regulator said notices were issued to three channels for not adhering to Ramzan guidelines.

“The guidelines are valid for only 20 days and seeking more time by Geo Entertainment shows that the channel is not serious in complying with the orders of the Islamabad High Court and the Authority,” a PEMRA release said.
