Samaa and Geo keen on hiring NBC

ISLAMABAD: Samaa Television plans to hire Nasir Baig Chughtai (NBC) of Geo fame who recently helped launch Abb Takk Television.

On the other hand Geo are also keen on having him back to head the channel after Managing Director Azhar Abbas quit in August to join BOL Television, yet to go on air.

Nasir Baig is the Director News and Current Affairs at Abb Takk, a channel that hit the airwaves in April.

NBC, a Geo pioneer led the channel’s launch team in Dubai. He served there in various capacities and at one point was the Executive Director.

In the 1980s he remained associated with Urdu daily Jang serving in such positions as Chief News Editor and Deputy Editor.

Geo is also said to be hiring creative staff to strengthen its ranks in order to face the challenge posed by the apparently mighty BOL TV.
