IJNet names Pakistani reporter Amar Guriro Journalist of the Month
Amar Guriro has been recognized as the Journalist of the Month by the International Journalists Network (IJNet). His career in digital journalism was significantly influenced by a fellowship focused on freedom of expression.

ISLAMABAD — Pakistani multimedia environmental reporter Amar Guriro has been named Journalist of the Month by the International Journalists Network (IJNet).

Interestingly, Guriro became a digital journalist after learning about a fellowship on IJNet more than ten years ago. He says that training helped him.

The fellowship titled —ICFJ’s Reporting Across Cultures: Freedom of Expression in the Digital Age — was the turning point in his career.

“I became a digital journalist thanks to that training,” IJNet quoted Guriro as saying. “And that has changed my entire life.”
