Dunya News reporter dies covering PTI rally
Younas Awan, a reporter for Dunya News, died while covering a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf rally due to cardiac arrest. He was a veteran journalist known for his bravery and has left behind a family.

CHAKWAL – Younas Awan, a district reporter for Dunya News died of cardiac arrest Tuesday while covering Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf rally in Chakwal.

According to Dunya News, Awan arrived at the office of Raja Yassir Sarfraz where Khan was due to inaugurate PTI’s membership drive.

The security guards stopped journalists from entering the office. Awan suffered cardiac arrest after being pushed and shoved repeatedly in a crowd outside Sarfraz’s residence.

He was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Chakwal but could not make it.

Dunya News reported that Awan was in journalism since 1992. He was known for being a brave reporter. He spent time in jail because of his bold reporting.

The deceased has left behind a widow and two daughters. He was with Dunya News for nine years.
