FAISALABAD – A Samaa Television crew was beaten up Tuesday and their news gathering van was damaged by security guards at the University of Agriculture.
Samaa reported its team was assigned to cover an issue involving the students. When they got there they were attacked by the guards. The crew included a reporter, a cameraman, and driver.
Television footage showed a group of about 10 guards with staffs damaging the van with no police in sight.
The channel reported police arrived one hour late despite being stationed close to the university. They did nothing to stop the guards, Samaa said.
