Masked cops thrash journalists in Karachi

KARACHI: Masked police personnel thrashed reporters, cameramen and photographers Saturday outside the Sindh High Court for unknown reasons.

The media persons had gathered there to cover appearance of Sindh's former Interior Minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza before a court in multiple cases against him.

The police commandos turned up at the scene in civvies, wearing masks and with clubs in their hands, eye witnesses said. “They attacked the media persons without saying anything and thrashed them with clubs.”

Leaders of different political parties and journalists unions have condemned the incident and demanded a fair probe and arrests of the culprits.
