Final list of candidates for NPC polls

ISLAMABAD: The election committee for the December 17 polls of the National Press Club, Islamabad on Thursday announced the final list of candidates.


There are two candidates running for president -- Farooq Faisal Khan and Matiullah Jan while Arshad Mahmood Malik and Shahryar Khan will be contesting for the post of secretary.


For the slots of vice-presidents there are eight candidates in the run - Abdul Qayyum Siddiqui, Abdul Razzaq Sial, Asim Ali Rana, Ghulam Ullah Kiyani, Imran Alam Chaudhry, Shahzad Farooqi, Syed Ejaz Ahmad Shah and Syed Waqar Kazmi .


Seven candidates will contest for the posts of joint secretaries - Atta Ullah Rajar, Farrukh Nawaz Bhatti, Nasir Mahmood, Rao Rizwan Arshad, Saghir Ahmed, Sajjad Ali Qureshi, Zulfiqar Ali Khan.

 

Afzal Javed (Ajjoo) and Asadullah Malik are candidates for the post of treasurer. Thirty candidates will contest for the slots on the governing body.



The polling time is from10:00am to 7:00pm at the National Press Club, Islamabad. The election committee is headed by Nasir Zaidi with Khalid Azim, Imran Naeem Ahmad, Qazi Zafar and Rizwan Ehsan Ali as members.
