Asia Despatch to launch monthly magazine
ISLAMABAD: Asia Despatch, an online news agency, is all set to roll out its monthly magazine from April that will have global news analysis, Pakistan-centric opinion pieces and success stories besides feature stories on socio-economic issues.

Hamza Ameer (pictured), an accomplished senior journalist and analyst on international affairs, is the brain behind the idea and is also the magazine's editor-in-chief.

“It will be a glossy 30-page magazine and will carry quality stuff for readers across the country. This will be available in the market in the first week of April,” he told JournalismPakistan.com.

The magazine will initially be published with contributions from some freelancers but experienced journalists and later some reporters would be inducted to enhance quality and area of the coverage, he said.

Ameer has been running the Asia Despatch, www.asiadespatch.org, since 2011 with major focus on war and terror, Southeast Asia, youth and culture, United States, India and sport.

“Some international news organizations like Press TV, Nile TV, Headlines Today and News Mobile Asia are our subscribers and we are planning to expand it further,” he said.

Hassan Abdullah and Sikandar Riaz are hired as Deputy Editor and Associate Editor of the magazine respectively.
