Assaulted on talk show, Sirmed presses for registration of FIR against JUIF senator

ISLAMABAD: Women rights activist Marvi Sirmed, assaulted by a JUIF senator in a television talk show this week was Sunday pressing for registration of an FIR against him.

 

"I request Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to kindly intervene and ask Islamabad Police to register my FIR against Mr. Hamdullah," she tweeted. Sirmed has already filed an application with the Kohsar Police Station in F-7 seeking registration of FIR against Hafiz Hamdullah who abused and attempted to punch her during the recording of a current affairs program on NewsOne TV.

 

In the application, Sirmed says Hamdullah maligned her character and assaulted her besides using vulgar language and threatening her of dire consequences.
