ISLAMABAD – Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Friday expressed concern over arrest of ARY Television journalist Iqrarul Hassan in Karachi.
In a statement the minister said the federal and provincial governments should learn a lesson and get guidance instead of showing annoyance on such a sting operation. He said sting operations are common in the world. He directed the secretary interior to contact the province's Inspector General of Police to settle the matter.
Hassan entered the Sindh Assembly building Friday along with a crew member carrying a pistol, without being checked by the security guards.
Once inside, he presented the weapon before the speaker, shocking the lawmakers. The Sindh interior minister, instead of addressing the opposition's concerns, requested the speaker to order arrest of the armed man and his team members. - APP
