CEJ to organize training for journalists in Karachi
ISLAMABAD: The Center for Excellence in Journalism is going to organize a two-week training for journalists on business and economic reporting and short TV documentary production.

The CEJ has been established recently at the Institute of Business Administration Karachi in collaboration with International Center for Journalists, the IBA and the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, and with a funding from the US Department of State.

The center is now accepting applications from journalists all over Pakistan for training on business reporting and short TV documentary production.

The training on business and economic reporting will be held from Jan 26 to Feb 6 while training on short TV documentary production will commence from Feb 16 to 27.

Susan Chandler, professor at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, will be instructor for business and economic reporting. Her classes include Introduction to Business Reporting, Advanced Business Reporting and Investigative Business Reporting.

Khurram Husain, Assistant Editor at Dawn, will be the co-instructor for business and economic reporting.

The CEJ Facebook page says, Brent E. Huffman, instructor for the upcoming course on short TV documentary production, is an assistant professor of journalism at Medill as well as a working documentary filmmaker and director of long-form television programs.

The center is also offering limited merit-based scholarships for training on business reporting and journalists can apply for training and the scholarship by sending an email at cej@iba.edu.pk
