Security personnel thrash The Nation reporter

KARACHI: Security personnel beat up Abdullah Zafar, a reporter with The Nation during snap-checking in Allah Wali Chowrangi area on Tariq Road, Karachi.

They forced the reporter into their van after the latter exchanged hot words with the traffic police who asked him to show documents of his motorcycle.

“Zafar was beaten up after he refused to apologize to the traffic police for his misbehavior,” a colleague of the reporter told JournalismPakistan.com.

He said the traffic police personnel took the reporter to the security personnel deployed nearby and complained about his alleged misbehavior.

Karachi Union of Journalists and other journalists unions have condemned the incident and demanded an immediate probe.
