LAHORE:Amjad Warraich, the Lahore Bureau Chief of NewsOne Television, has been asked to step down amidst ongoing upheaval at the channel.
In addition to Warraich, Sadaf Malik, co-host of the morning show Front Page, has also been directed to leave.
The changes come after NewsOne appointed Hafiz Tariq as Controller of News from Waqt TV, following the departure of Rana Mubashir as Director of News and senior anchor last month. Mubashir reportedly left amidst accusations from management regarding his pro-army stance and criticism of the government.
NewsOne has further strengthened its leadership team by bringing in Omer as chief operating officer, also from Waqt TV. Both Omer and Tariq have previous experience working with NewsOne.
