Geo offices attacked again

ISLAMABAD: Geo Television offices near the Red Zone in Islamabad came under yet another attack on Sunday night by protesters reportedly affiliated with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT). This marks another episode in a series of violent assaults that have targeted the media outlet amid ongoing political demonstrations.

The attackers pelted stones at the building, causing significant damage to the all-glass structure and further instilling fear among the journalists working inside. Despite the vulnerability and repeated nature of these attacks, law enforcement agencies failed to protect the staff during the incident.

The News reported that it was not an isolated event; the Geo Television offices have been targeted at least 20 times in the past week alone. These assaults have also resulted in damage to vehicles associated with the media outlet. The persistent attacks highlight a concerning pattern of violence.

During the latest incident, the assailants managed to breach the building's security and break into the premises. However, there were no immediate reports of injuries among the staff.
