Business Recorder journalists face pay cuts
Business Recorder has announced a 20 percent pay cut affecting 14 reporters and a sub-editor. The decision was communicated to staff due to falling revenues.

ISLAMABAD – Business Recorder has told its Islamabad staff it will slap 20 percent pay cuts because of falling revenues.

As many as 14 reporters and a sub-editor will be affected.

The resident editor conveyed the management’s decision to her team on Wednesday. She told them the paper was not getting enough advertisements.

It was not immediately clear when the deductions would start.

Last month Dawn announced a 40 percent cut in staff salaries because of declining advertising revenue and an increase in operational costs.
