Ijaz Ahmed Khan, an Associated Press of Pakistan journalist, suffered a serious head injury during an attack in Peshawar. He has filed a police report regarding the incident.

PESHAWAR—Senior journalist Ijaz Ahmed Khan of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) sustained a serious head injury in a pre-dawn attack by two unknown men on main Peshawar-Charsadda Road near Nothern Bypass Thursday.

He was rushed to a hospital by his relatives, and his injury required stitches.

Khan lodged the First Information Report (FIR) of the incident at the Khazana Police Station.

Talking to JournalismPakistan.com, Khan said he was intercepted by two motorcyclists close to his home on main Peshawar-Charsadda Road at the time of Sehri. The assailants asked him about his profession.

Ijaz said that he told them he was a sports journalist. Then, one of them hit him on the head with some hard object, leaving him unconscious.
