Abb Takk TV reporter thrashed

KARACHI: Abb Takk Television reporter Atif Hussain was on Tuesday thrashed by unidentified men while he was busy making footage of a graveyard for a news package.
 
Amin Yousuf, Secretary General Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), condemned the incident and demanded that the government arrest the culprits at the earliest. He said PFUJ would stage a countrywide protest against the Sindh government if it failed to arrest the culprits.
 
G M Jamili, President of the Karachi Union of Journalists, also condemned the incident and urged the government to take measures for the protection and security of journalists.
 
He said he would contact Director General Rangers and request him to have the perpetrators traced and arrested.
