University names sports complex after Amjad Aziz Malik
The Campus Sports Complex at Abdul Wali Khan University has been named in honor of Amjad Aziz Malik for his significant contributions to sports journalism. Malik was elected as Secretary General of AIPS-ASIA, showcasing international recognition amidst challenging circumstances for his homeland.

MARDAN - The Campus Sports Complex at the Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan has been named after prominent sports journalist Amjad Aziz Malik (pictured) in recognition of his extraordinary services to the field of sports.

Malik recently was elected the Secretary General of Association of International Press Sports (Asia) through an open election held in Bahrain.

Dr. Ehsan Ali, the university's Vice Chancellor made the announcement at a ceremony honoring Malik on April 14.

Addressing the faculty and journalism students and Health and Physical Education Departments Dr. Ali said: “The achievements earned by Amjad Aziz Malik without any support from homeland at the international arena of sports journalism in an environment, when the motherland was experiencing severe challenges in wake of extremism and terrorism oriented incidences is a pleasant message to the world."

Shiraz Paracha, Chairman, Journalism Department also spoke on the occasion.

Later Malik highlighted his achievements and experiences. He also announced that he will facilitate two students of the university's Journalism Department to go abroad to enrich their knowledge and avail training opportunities in the field of sports.
